A natural fiber that grows in the leaves of the fique plant native to Andean regions of Colombia. The fique plant is naturally sustainable with a productive lifetime of 15 to 20 years.

Our fique products are handwoven by the artisans of Curiti which means “town of weavers“ in Guane (indigenous language). These artisans transform the fibers of the fique plant into art by hand pulling, dying and weaving the fique fibers into biodegradable products. They take great pride in the craftsmanship of each of our products, our mission is to share their beautiful work with the world, and help preserve the craft for generations to come.

Around 70,000 families of farmers live from the fique plant and its fiber in Colombia today.
